In March 2020 Auckland Grammar School approached Watershed to project manage their new library and swimming pool projects. We were awarded the contract to carry out design management, engineering, manage consents and tenders and oversee construction through to completion.
The library and swimming pool projects were both successfully delivered on time and within budget, in partnership with Jasmax (library), Architectus (pool), Barnes Beagley Doherr (BBD) and Aspec Construction as the main contractor.
The new library, known as Te Ara Matauranga, is able to be seen from the motorway, completed in August 2023 and officially opened in October 2023. The library includes a computer suite and two classrooms, along with break out spaces.
The purpose built outdoor pool was constructed from precast panels and included plant, storage space and a spectator area. It was completed in June 2023 and is used regularly for school swimming and also water polo trainings.
