David joined Watershed after eight years of experience in the property team at the Ministry of Education. Over his time at the MOE, he developed skills in asset, facilities, and project management. He delivered school projects big and small to a portfolio of 90 schools in the South Auckland school network, and every day was a new and challenging situation to resolve.
He has a passion for educational design and the pedagogical requirements for teaching areas, as well as the infrastructure needed to keep a school ticking. He is a qualified asset manager with NAMS (NZ Asset Management Support), and mentors students working towards their accreditation. David’s public service experience and out of the box thinking make him a problem solver and invaluable asset to the team.
He has a degree in philosophy and ethics so is always looking for an opportunity to have an existential argument. On weekends he can be seen staring and shaking his head, as he slowly loses an ongoing battle against his overgrown garden.
