School Maintenance

We offer a complete solution to our school clients by providing off-site property management and on-site caretaking, cleaning, and ground staff services. This relieves school Senior Managers and Principals of property-related tasks, allowing them to concentrate on teaching and improving student learning outcomes.

Watershed has learned a lot from working with schools and the Ministry of Education, and is now an expert at handling all types of property issues that come up in schools on a daily basis. We possess in-depth expertise in overseeing the specific necessities of integrated schools, including managing relationships unique to these institutions, like Proprietorship, Board of Trustees, and expectations from the Ministry of Education.

Our property maintenance service covers a wide range of tasks including painting, building and roof washing, gutter and cesspit clearing, and more. We will also provide a plan for maintenance if you don’t already have one in place. By doing so, the caretaker can focus on their day-to-day tasks, the Principal can focus on teaching and learning, and we can ensure the Board of Trustees meets its obligations for regular asset maintenance. All of this is available for a flat monthly fee.

  • Obtaining all quotes and transparently recommend the best contractor to carry out the works (based on the proposed costs, health and safety documentation and availability)
  • Engaging contractors and managing the works delivery, including health & safety, through to inspection of the completed works
  • Certifying/approving all invoices before they go to the school for payment
  • Developing school property budgets in conjunction with the Finance Manager
  • Assisting with preparation of strategic plans
  • Creating, managing and maintaining long term landscape plans
  • Supplying and managing property staff (where appropriate)
  • Providing specialised operational advice around school swimming pools/aquatic centres (where applicable)
  • Managing cyclical maintenance requirements for the school
