Watershed was engaged to complete a full Condition Assessment Report of the swimming pool facility of Northcote College to provide the school with a baseline document which outlined operational issues, maintenance and future capital costs. These costs were also mirrored in their 10 Year Asset Management Plan provided as part of this body of work.
Northcote College was given the opportunity by the Lion Foundation to apply for a grant towards these identified works. We were engaged to obtain specialist quotes from suitably qualified contractors for all of these identified works and manage the application process on behalf of the College.
The application was successful and Watershed were then engaged to coordinate and manage the project for the school which was completed in January 2016. Works included:
- Full overhaul of the building structure
- Pool tank substrate repairs and painting
- Remedial plant room works
- Full overhaul and replacement of electrical cabling and lights
- CCTV work to establish the condition of pipework to inform future work
- Depth signage to compliance requirements of NZS 4441:2008
In conjunction with project management of the upgrade works Watershed also managed the procurement process for the school to outsource the management of the facility to an external operator. This included managing the RFP process, reviewing proposals and negotiating with the preferred tenderer.
